AUTHOR GUIDELINES

1. About the Journal & Eligibility

Geographers Today is a bilingual, peer-reviewed annual research journal published by Chhattisgarh Bhoogol Parishad. The journal is primarily intended for the publication of original research papers in the field of Geography and allied disciplines.

The journal encourages contributions from academicians, researchers, and scholars. Papers from members of the Parishad as well as reputed non-member scholars may also be considered for publication, subject to editorial and peer-review approval.

  • It is primarily intended for the publication of papers submitted by the members of the Parishad.
  • Authors submitting papers are generally expected to be members of the Parishad.
  • However, invited papers from reputed scholars may also be considered for publication.
  • The Editor welcomes original research articles that contribute to advancements and scholarly discussions across all sub-disciplines of Geography.

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

Types of Contributions

The journal accepts the following categories of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Theoretical and Conceptual Papers

  • Regional and Area-based Case Studies

  • Applied and Field-based Research Papers

All submissions must contribute to the advancement of geographical knowledge and scholarly debate.

3. Language of Manuscript

Language Policy

Manuscripts may be submitted in English or Hindi.

  • English manuscripts should follow standard academic English.

  • Hindi manuscripts should be typed in Unicode (Kruti Dev / Mangal compatible fonts).

The journal promotes multilingual scholarship to strengthen regional and national academic discourse.

4. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Manuscript Format

  • Manuscripts should be original and unpublished.

  • The recommended length of the manuscript is 3,000–6,000 words.

  • Manuscripts should be typed in MS Word (.doc / .docx) format.

  • Figures, tables, maps, and illustrations should be clearly labeled and properly referenced.

Authors are advised to ensure clarity, academic rigor, and proper citation of sources.

7. Peer Review & Editorial Decision

Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Geographers Today undergo a rigorous peer-review process. Each paper is evaluated by subject experts to assess:

  • Originality

  • Academic relevance

  • Methodological soundness

  • Contribution to geographical research

The Editorial Board reserves the right to:

  • Suggest revisions

  • Reduce the length of manuscripts

  • Accept or reject submissions based on academic merit

8. Publication Ethics & Responsibility

Author Responsibility

  • Authors are solely responsible for the views expressed in their manuscripts.

  • The journal does not hold responsibility for opinions expressed by authors.

  • In case of any dispute or legal matter, jurisdiction shall lie with Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh).

Plagiarism, duplicate submission, or unethical research practices will result in immediate rejection.

9. Copyright & Publication Rights

Copyright Policy

Once published, the manuscript becomes part of the official record of Geographers Today. Authors must ensure that their work does not violate copyright laws and that proper permissions are obtained where required.

10. Important Notes for Authors

Notes to Contributors

  • Submission does not guarantee acceptance.

  • Authors may be required to revise manuscripts based on reviewer comments.

  • The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editorial Board.
